William "Wil" Smith

On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, William "Wil" J. Smith, 30, of Stewartstown passed away at UPMC-Memorial Hospital in York after a brief illness. He was the loving son of Diane LoSasso and the late Steven G. Smith. Wil was born on January 14, 1992 in Washington, DC. He graduated from the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School, then received an Associate's Degree in Medical Assistance from the Commonwealth Technical Institute. Wil was a member of the Knights of Columbus; St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in New Freedom, where he served as Cantor and sang in the church choir; and was the secretary of the Spina Bifida Association of Maryland.

Wil loved cars, especially Corvettes. He enjoyed classical fencing, target shooting, and making people happy. Wil was a creative person who wrote and told stories. He enjoyed getting together with friends to play table top role-playing games.

He is survived by his mother, Diane; brother, Vincent Smith; aunt, Kathleen Trobovic; uncles, Vincent LoSasso (Helen), Jerry Smith (Nancy), Garry Smith (Susie), Kerry Smith(Wendy), Jim Smith (Barb); and cousins, Denise, Paul, Anna, Nicholas, Sharon, Joyce, Doug, Kim, Lisa, Tammy, Mark, Jim, Ian, Tara, Nicole, Katie, Stephanie, Jennifer, Rebecca, Alex and Karly; and many friends.

Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 22, from 10:00 AM until a Funeral Liturgy begins at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Fr. Mark Wilke will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for funeral expenses.
