William E. "Bill" Bruaw

On Sunday, April 2, 2023, William E. "Bill" Bruaw, 83, passed away after a brief illness at the Pappus House in York. He was the loving husband of Mary K. (Yost) Bruaw for 60 years. Bill was born on December 29, 1939 in Seven Valleys to the late Harry and Sevilla (Hoff) Bruaw. He graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1958, then was drafted into the US Army in 1963. Bill worked as a materials handler for Cole Steel for 24 years, then worked for AMP, Inc. until he retired in 2003. Bill was a member and Deacon of Trinity United Church of Christ in Glen Rock, and also served on the cemetery committee. He was a member of the American Legion Post #403 in Glen Rock, and delivered Meals on Wheels for ten years. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing horseshoes, baseball, golf and spending time with his family. He truly loved serving his church, volunteering at the Village Library in Jacobus, going on bus trips with local friends, and taking trips to Alaska, the Panama Canal, Hawaii and St. Martin.

Bill is survived by his wife, Mary; three children, William H. Bruaw and his wife Rev. Betsy Bruaw, David Bruaw and his wife Susanne, and Beth Ann with companion John; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Christopher, Laura, Curtis, Craig, Jakob and Lukas; and one great-grandson, Oliver.

A public gathering will be held on Saturday, April 15, from 10:00 am until a memorial service begins at 11:00 am at Trinity UCC, 27 Manchester St., Glen Rock. Inurnment will follow in the Trinity UCC Cemetery.
