Warren Forbes Glen Rock Warren Forbes, 92, of Glen Rock, died Wednesday November 6, 2013 at Longview Nursing Home, Manchester Md. He was the husband of the late Sadie V. (Rohrbaugh) Forbes. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, November 11, 2013 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock with his Pastor Rev. Dr. Jason A. Leader officiating. Burial will be in St. Jacob’s Stone Church Cemetery. Viewings will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday and from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Forbes was born on February 17, 1921 in Bakersville, NC, a son of the late John Forbes and Evaline (Moffitt) Forbes. A farmer for most of his life he had farmed for over 66 years on the family farm in Codorus Township and had also been employed in building construction for many years. He was a 50 Plus Year member of St. Jacob’s (Stone) United Church of Christ and Sunday School, and was known for making Apple Butter “the old fashion way” on his farm. Warren is survived by three daughters, Judy E. Ellison and her husband Kenneth of Littlestown, Mary A. Miller and her husband M. Daniel of New Freedom, Jane M. Nace and her husband Andrew of Glen Rock; three sons, Clyde L. Forbes and his wife Carol of Mechanicsburg; John W. Forbes of Glen Rock and Steven L. Forbes and his wife Brenda of Glen Rock; Seven Grandchildren, Michelle Hess, Christopher, Cory and Craig Forbes, Mark and Michael Miller and Ashley Grove; Eight Great Grandchildren, Kayla and Kelly Hess, Mason, Hunter and Zhara Miller, Christopher Evan, Owen and Chelsea Forbes. He was preceded in death by two children, Anna Mae Forbes and Dale Stewart Forbes.
