W. David Rudisill

W. David Rudisill, Jr. Seven Valleys W. David “Sparky” Rudisill, Jr., 78, of Seven Valleys, died Sunday November 30, 2014 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Carol Ann (Hirt) Rudisill with whom he celebrated a 54th wedding anniversary on August 20, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock, with his pastor the Rev. Ed Robbins, officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Glen Rock with military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewings will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday and from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home. The family requests that you dress casual for the services. Dave was born July 5, 1936, a son of the late Walter D. and Anna F. (Danner) Rudisill and was a step son of the late Flora M. (Bowman) Rudisill. He graduated from Susquehannock High School in 1954 and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was employed as a Lineman with Met Ed for over 35 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Glen Rock, the Austin L. Grove American Legion Post #403 and the Roaring Run Rod and Gun Club in Clinton County. He enjoyed being outdoors in nature and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also loved spending time with his family and friends when ever he could. Besides his wife, he also leaves three daughters, Kimberly Ann Hare and Sandy Jo Kemper, both of Seven Valleys, and Cherie Lynn Garrett of York; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister Lenabelle “Lee” R. Glatfelter. Memorial contributions may be made to the York County SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trial North, York, PA 17406.
