Vivian Mae Snyder

On Monday, October 21, 2024, Vivian Mae (Smith) Snyder, 88 of York, passed away at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York. She was the devoted wife of the late Arthur K. Snyder, who passed away in 1993. Vivian was born on February 24, 1936, in York, to the late John J. and Martha D. (Stough) Smith. She graduated from Dallastown High School in 1956. She loved regularly attending the class reunions. She was a lifetime member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in York, where she also taught Sunday School and enjoyed helping with the daycare. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking for her family and babysitting all of her grandchildren and great grandchild.

Surviving her are her children, Sharon Mae Green and John Arthur Snyder; three grandchildren, Brandi Mae (Snyder) Foor, Zackary Ryan Snyder and Sonja Smith-Keener; great-grandson, Julian Scott Foor; one brother, Raymond Smith and wife Sheila; and one sister, Joyce Yingling. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one grandson, Michael Green; and one brother Kenneth Smith.

Public viewing will be held on Sunday, October 27, from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, PA. Interment will be private. Please feel free to wear her favorite color, purple. Flowers are appreciated, she loved having fresh cut flowers around.
