Virginia L. Lehman

Virginia L. “Ginny” (Wakeland) Lehman, 85, of York who was formerly of Glen Rock, died Sunday April 16, 2017 at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Reynolds B. Lehman. A funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock with Rev. Larry Parlett, officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 PM on Wednesday and from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Virginia was born on May 11, 1931 in York, a daughter of the late James and Nora (Spahr) Wakeland. She graduated from West York High school in 1949 and had worked as a clerk at Harvey’s Rent-All in York, and had worked at Tioga Silk Mill, and the Hungerford Packaging Company. She was a member of St. Paul’s UCC, Shrewsbury and enjoyed hunting, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends. Ginny leaves two sons, Eric B. “Rick” Lehman and his wife Darla of Glen Rock, and Dan L. Lehman and his wife Andi of Hernando, MS; 5 grandchildren, Terri, Craig, Cindy, Reyn, and Russell; and 6 great grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Kuhn of Goodyear AZ, and Holly Meekins of Annapolis, MD; and a brother, Lowell “Dave” Wakeland of York New Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 161 S. Main Street, Shrewsbury, PA 17361 or to Mt. Zion "Potosi" United Methodist Church, 10703 Mt.
