Valerie K. Knirk-Fear

Valerie K. Knirk-Fear Elizabethtown Valerie K. Knirk-Fear, 56, of Elizabethtown passed away on Wednesday May 30, 2018 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. She was born on March 8, 1962 in Detroit, MI and was the daughter of Frederick G. Knirk of Long Beach, CA and the late Alfreda L. (Arlt) Harrington. Valerie was a 1979 graduate of Fayetteville-Manlius High School, Manlius, NY. She owned her own business cleaning houses and had worked as a hostess at Hennigan’s Restaurant and as a manager at Clearview Lanes, Mount Joy. She was an avid gardener, pet lover and rescuer, she enjoyed singing, dancing, and spending time with her family and five grandchildren. In addition to her father, she is survived by two daughters, Jennifer C. Mellinger and her husband Josh of Wrightsville, and Nichole R. Azpeitia and her husband Abel of Mount Joy; five grandchildren, Tim, Greg, Josie, Luke, and Chris; seven siblings, Maureen Harrington Tolman and husband Richard of Walpole, MA, Paul R. Knirk and wife Christine of Burnsville, MN, Marcia Harrington of NY, Kevin Harrington and wife Michele of NY, Sheila Harrington of NY, Linda Glasco of CA, and Lori Gasser of CA; and her stepmother, Patricia Knirk of Long Beach, CA. Following cremation, a celebration of Valerie Knirk-Fear's life will be held at Rapho Township Community Park at 960 Strickler Road, Mount Joy, PA 17552 on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 1:00pm, regardless of weather. There will be pavilions to gather in, music, and a photo slide show. We will be taking photos to remember all of Valerie's friends and family, sharing memories of Valerie and lessons learned from her, as well as food and beverages. All are welcome to bring their favorite photos and memories to share. If desired, you may bring a food dish or beverage to share as well.
