Thomas A. Glatfelter

Thomas Alan Glatfelter of Glen Rock died at his home on Saturday, October 21st.

Tom was the youngest of six children, and was born on February 8, 1950, to the late Raymond and Iva (Thoman) Glatfelter.

He was the devoted husband to Lois (Mergenthaler) Glatfelter for 55 years.

Tom was a member of the Austin L. Grove Sons of the American Legion of Glen Rock. During baseball season he could be found cheering on the Glen Rock team. He was also an avid fan of the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

To those who knew him best, he was "Tommy G.". He loved to laugh and spend time with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing for flounder at the Delaware beaches and hunting ducks with his faithful Labrador, Gretchen.

He is predeceased by a sister Shirley Alwood, and brother Barry Glatfelter. He is survived by brothers Lamar Glatfelter, Timothy Glatfelter and Stanley Glatfelter.

He is also survived by his daughter Leslie (Glatfelter) Calkins and husband Charles Calkins of York; and grandson Benjamin Lehman and partner CJ Nocera of Pittsburgh.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Austin L. Grove American Legion Post #403, 4035 Manchester St. Glen Rock, 17327 or the Glen Rock Athletic Association, Attn: Dan Rogers, Treasurer, 1976 Caple Road, Finksburg, MD 21048.
