Thelma Jean Russell

Thelma Russell, age 84 of Glenville, PA went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. She was born on March 22, 1940, in Hellam, PA, the daughter of the late Lawrence Russell and Miriam (Altland) Russell.

Thelma worked many years at the Seven Valleys Garment Co. She later worked at Country Meadows, The Haven, Dallastown Area School District, and Tom's Vegetables of Jacobus.

Thelma was active at the Windy Hill Senior Center in Spring Grove, PA. She enjoyed playing bingo and listening to Bluegrass music. She attended Christ Church of Jacobus, PA.

She is survived by two children, Barry Shaffer and wife Tammy; and Sherry Kopp; three grandchildren, Danyiel Wise and husband Dan, Kyle Shaffer and wife Megan, and Jennifer Kopp; and six great-grandchildren, Chloe Amspacher and husband Eli, Aubrie Greenbriar and husband Jacob, Benjamin Wise, Ava Lehr, Jaidyn Shaffer, and Bryce Shaffer. She is survived by three siblings, Ruth Anne Keeney, Carole Rebert and husband Dale, and Lawrence Russell, Jr. She was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Shaffer.

A memorial service is planned for noon on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Christ Church of Jacobus, 200 N. Main St., Jacobus, PA. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of service. Pastor Jennifer Zack will be officiating the service. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
