Susan "Sue" or "Susie" Dycus was born on June 14, 1949 and passed away at Genesis Gettysburg Center while receiving rehabilitation from a recent hospitalization on November 10, 2024.
She leaves behind her daughter Lisa Markle, son-in-law, John Bryan Markle, her four grandchildren: Boston, Elizabeth, John, and Samuel, and Tootsie her faithful cat companion for many years. She also leaves behind many precious family members, including her siblings: Linda Weaver, Jim Geisler, Donna May Baum, Donald Geisler, and Lisa Maslaney, along with wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, and faithful school friends Wanda Minnich and Arlene Haines.
She was born and raised in York, PA by parents George and Gloria Geisler. She married Paul Howard Dycus on September 9, 1967 and was a faithful wife to him all the almost 34 years they were together, taking care of him until his death in April 2001, after a lengthy illness.
She loved animals and was blessed with many great pets including Heidi and Peanut ( her dogs), Madison, Sapphire, Toby, and Tootsie (her cats), and Petie (her cool parakeet, inherited from her Grandma Rudy, whom she dearly loved and enjoyed taking care of).
She was devoted to her family and would do anything to help them. Her last couple years of life were plaqued with health issues, but she once said through it all, "I thank God for every day He gives me", as she cherished being able to spend time with her grandchildren and watch them grow up. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
"Strengthining the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. "We must go through many hardships to enter the Kingdom of God", they said- Acts 14:22
