Steven J. Casserly Jacobus Steven J. Casserly, 57 of Jacobus, died Thursday, July 20, 2017 at his home, surround by his family. He was the husband of Deborah E. (Schmidt) Casserly, with whom he shared 27 years of marriage. Funeral Liturgy will begin at 11 AM on Tuesday July 25, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom with the Rev. Robert A. Yohe, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 AM Tuesday at the Church. He was born on July 10, 1960 in Brooklyn, New York and was a son of the late Joseph F. and Josephine J. (Schmidt) Casserly. Mr. Casserly received a degree in Aviation Engineering from Dowling College, Long Island, NY and worked as a mechanic for Clean Venture Cycle Chem, Baltimore MD for 13 years. Steven was a master carpenter that could design, build, and fix anything. He loved cars, music, and spending time with his family. Besides his wife Deborah, he leaves four sons, Drew M. Casserly, Brett H. Casserly of Delaware, Christopher A. Casserly, Matthew J. Casserly; and a daughter Mary Jane E. Casserly; a sister Carol Casserly of Bel Air, MD; and two brothers, Joseph and Robert Casserly, both of Farmingville, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist R.C.
