Steven Carl Grove

On Friday, December 16, 2022, Steven C. Grove, 73, of Glen Rock, passed away suddenly at WellSpan York Hospital. He was the partner of Phil Attig for 41 years. Steve was born on March 30, 1949 in York to the late Furhman C. and Gene (Seitz) Grove. He graduated from Susquehannock High School in 1967 then received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Millersville University in 1971. Steve worked for Hanover Brands as a Traffic Controller before retiring in 2012. He was a 50+ year member of the Glen Rock Carolers; member of the Shrewsbury Preservation Society and was on the board of the Glen Rock Historical Society. He was also a lifelong member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Glen Rock, where he also sang in the choir for over 50 years. In his spare time he enjoyed reading and collecting Glen Rock memorabilia.

He is survived by his partner, Phil; one sister, Roberta Thoman; one niece, Ann Hines and husband Tony; one nephew, Matthew Thoman and wife, Rike; four grand-nephews, Colin, Keller, Sam and Ben; two grand-nieces, Leah and Avery. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Public gathering will be held on Thursday, December 29 from 10am until a memorial service begins at 11am at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 1 New St., Glen Rock, PA 17327. Inurnment will follow in the Glen Rock Union Cemetery. Pastor Skip Spangler will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are recommended to Immanuel United Methodist Church at the address above.
