Sterling E. Hamm York Sterling E. Hamm, 81, of York, died Tuesday, December, 22, 2015 at Hanover Hall Nursing Center. He was the husband of Donna L. (Brillhart) Hamm, with whom he celebrated a 52nd Wedding Anniversary this past March 17th. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, December 28, 2015 at Black Rock Church of the Brethren, 3864 Glenville Road, Glenville, with his pastor the Rev. Brandon R. Grady, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Monday at the Church. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Hamm was born on February 14, 1934 in Brodbecks, a son of the late George H. and Mary E. (Lehigh) Hamm. He worked for Teledyne McKay for 20 years in the forming department and the Brethren Home, New Oxford in their maintenance department for many years. He was a lifelong member of Black Rock Church of the Brethren, the Gettysburg Antique Auto Club, and the National Antique Auto Club. He loved hunting and fishing and spending time at his cabin. Besides his wife, he also leaves two daughters, Bonnie S. Hamm of York and Melinda M. Hamm of Ocean City, MD; a son, George S. Hamm of York; two grandsons, Zachary White and Talib Rice; a brother, Carl L. Hamm of Red Lion; and a sister in law Karen Hughes. He was preceded in death by a brother Melvin L. Hamm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 924-N Colonial Ave, York, PA 17403, or the American Heart Association 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
