Stephen W. Cope York Stephen W. Cope, 67, of York, died Friday April 25, 2014 at the York Hospital. He was the husband of Sharon M. (Stabley) Cope. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Monday April 28, 2014 at Round Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 7362 Church Road, Cross Roads, with military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Officiating at the service will be the Rt. Rev. Barry E. Yingling, CSSS. There will be no viewing. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Cope was born August 8, 1946 in York, a son of the late Frederick T. and Gladys R. (Gemmill) Cope. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and retired after 30 years of service in the U.S. Army Reserves. He also was employed as a Machinist, Tool and Die Maker and Programmer with Caterpillar Company in York for over 25 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, West York Rod and Gun Club, and was a life member of the West York VFW Post 8951. Besides his wife, Stephen also leaves two brothers, Timothy T. Cope of Middlebury VT and Frederick O. Cope of Columbus, Ohio’ and very good friends Carol and Tom Horton of York. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to York Health Foundation.
