Stanley J. Lazusky

Stanley J. Lazusky, 79, died Friday, January 12, 2018, at his home. He was the husband of the late Ruth M. (Hengst) Lazusky. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main St., Glen Rock, with Father Daniel Richards of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be private. Mr. Lazusky was born on June 25, 1938 in Frackville, PA and was a son of the late Stanley J. and Blanche B. (Filanowski) Lazusky. He served during peacetime in the U.S. Navy where he was a Boiler Tender 2nd Class on the Navy Destroyer the USS Leary DDR-879. He then became a Trooper with the Pennsylvania State Police working out of the York and Harrisburg Barracks, retiring in 1995 after 34 years of service. He was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, York and the Fraternal Order of Police Keystone Lodge #41. Stanley leaves to cherish his memory, fiancé, Gloria Jelenewicz of Hanover; four daughters, Mary Anne Lazusky (David Yontz) of Rossville, Lorrie Jean Munkittrick of Dillsburg, Caroline M. Garner (Ken "Dickie") of Lewisberry, Christine E. Fike (Gary) of Dover; three grandchildren, Megan, Nathan and Emily, who were the light of his life; brother, John Lazusky of Frackville; sister, Jeanette Mather of Richmond, VA; his former wife, Marie Urich of Lewisberry; 10 grand dogs; and Dudley the cat.
