Sidney W. Krebs Glen Rock. Sidney W. Krebs, 63 of Glen Rock, died Tuesday May 5, 2015 at his home. He was the husband of Tersie P. (Smith) Krebs, with whom he celebrated a 41st Wedding Anniversary this past October 27, 2014. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, May 9, 2015 at St. Jacob’s Lutheran Church, 3444 Sticks Road, (Route 216), Glen Rock, with his pastor the Rev. Paula L. Murray officiating. Burial will follow in St. Jacob’s Stone Church Cemetery, Glenville. Viewings will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Friday at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock and from 8:45 to 9:45 Saturday at the church. Sidney was born on January 5, 1952 in Hanover and was a son of the late William G. and Nova I. (Meckley) Krebs. He graduated from Susquehannock High School in 1969 and had been employed as a Head Mechanic with the Southern York County School District, retiring in 2014. Prior to that he had been employed with Heidlebaugh’s Appliance and Garver’s Appliance. Sid was also a volunteer coach for the Susquehannock High School varsity baseball team for several years, where he made many friends and felt like a real mentor to each and every boy he helped to coach. His great hobby was Model Railroading which he shared with his sons and many friends. He was one of the founders and enjoyed participating with the Glen Rock Hose and Ladder Fire Company Train Display every year. He was a lifelong member of St. Jacob’s Lutheran Church, Glen Rock, serving on many committees, singing on the Choir and several terms on the Congregation Council. His church family meant the world to him and they were very faithful during his illness with their outpouring of love. Sidney also leaves two sons, Kevin D. Krebs and his wife Marci of Dallastown, Brian D. Krebs and his wife Trudi of Telford, PA; two granddaughters, Alessandra and Giuliana Krebs; a sister Twila F. Paul and husband William of Gibsonia, PA and a brother, Kenneth E. Krebs and wife Barbara of Glen Rock. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to St. Jacob’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 3444 Sticks Road, Glen Rock, Pa 17327. Condolences may be shared at Geiple.com
