Shirley Kessler

On Wednesday, July 20, 2022, Shirley (Baugher) Kessler, 85, of Glenville, passed away suddenly at UPMC Hanover Hospital. She was the loving wife of Harold Kessler for 64 years. Shirley was born on March 30, 1937 in Brodbecks, PA to the late Paul and Leisetha (Boehler) Baugher. She graduated from Eichelberger High School in Hanover, PA in 1955. Shirley was a secretary for W.E. Bittinger Frozen Foods Company her entire working career until she retired. She was a member of St. Jacob's Lutheran Church in Glen Rock and Past President of the American Business Women's Association. She had also been a Den Mother when her boys were in Boy Scouts. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Harold; four sons, Randy and wife Jeanette, Ron and wife Mary, Jim and wife Denise, and Steve and wife Vicki; ten grandchildren, Ryan and wife Ashley, Brandon and wife Samantha, Darin, Josh and wife Amber, Abbi and husband Tyler Null, Krista and husband Josh Hafer, Dani, Zach, Brooke and husband Jake Eyster and Brent and wife MyKayla; she was also survived by 14 great-grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; 6 siblings; and two grandchildren, Kristy Kessler and Brian Kessler. Public viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 26 from 10:00 AM until a funeral service begins at 11:00 AM at St. Jacob's Lutheran Church, 3444 Sticks Road, Glen Rock, PA 17327. Interment will follow in St. Jacob's (Stone) Church Cemetery, Glenville. Rev. Paula Murray will officiate.
