Shirley J. Nelson York Shirley J. (Rohrbaugh) Nelson, 79, of York, died Monday October 5, 2015 at the home of her daughter in Dallastown following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 9, 2015 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 29 Manchester Street, Glen Rock, with Rev. Fred Walthour Interim Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Trinity UCC Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Friday at the church. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock is in charge of arrangements. Ms. Nelson was born on April 9, 1936 in Glen Rock, a daughter of the late Willis B. and Rosa J. (Klinedinst) Rohrbaugh. She graduated as Valedictorian in 1954 from Susquehannock High School and was a Senior Companion Volunteer with Lutheran Social Services for over six years and had worked as an Office Manager with Toyojamco in York for six years and as a secretary with Allis Chalmers in York for over 15 years. She was a member of Trinity UCC Church, Glen Rock where she had sung on the church choir for many years. She also participated in three musicals at the York Little Theater in the 1950’s, played the Marimba, and loved singing at weddings and other events. Shirley leaves a daughter, Tracy L. Hanegraaf and husband Michael of Dallastown, a son Troy W. Nelson and wife Angie Proctor of Nokomis, FL; five grandchildren, Shawn A. Tetreault and his wife Holly, Matthew R. Hanegraaf and his wife Kara, Andrew M. Hanegraaf and Kathryn E Hanegraaf, and Tryan Nelson; three great grandchildren; and a brother, Donald B. Rohrbaugh of New Freedom. She was also predeceased by four sisters and two brothers. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Patient Help Fund, York Health Foundation, 50 N.
