Sarabelle Loretta Baugher

Sarabelle L. (Cramer) Baugher, 94, died Friday, January 7, 2022, at York Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Sterling E. Baugher. Sarabelle was born on a farm in Glenville on April 15, 1927 and was the fourth of six children of the late Edward and Lydia (Sotdorus) Cramer. She was lovingly named after her grandmother Sara and her parents added the “belle” to it. Sarabelle graduated from Codorus Township High School in 1944, went on to Thompson Business School, married her high school sweetheart, Sterling E. Baugher of Baugher Motors Inc. and became his secretary. After his passing in 1992, she became Cindy’s secretary and retired in 2015. Mrs. Baugher was a member of the Jefferson and Spring Grove Historical Society, Jefferson Ladies Auxiliary, a social member of the Spring Grove VFW, helped at the Jefferson Dutch Suppers for over 60 years, and was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Jefferson for 66 years. Sarabelle and her late son Larry, helped at the bicycle stand at the Jefferson Carnival for many years. She had traveled the world with her husband and family to places such as, China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, South Africa, India, and South America. She also visited all 50 states by motorhome with her family and friends. Of all the places Sarabelle visited, her favorite was the Turks and Caicos Islands, where she enjoyed the beach, sun, and turquoise waters. She loved flowers and enjoyed gardening in her earlier years, was a good cook and enjoyed making fastnachts and sugar cookies. One of Sarabelle’s favorite hobbies was collecting Santa Clauses and Nativity Scenes. She is survived by her loving daughter, Cindy E. Baugher of Jefferson; her sister Shirley Lehr and husband Gary of Spring Grove; Nieces Stephanie E. Lehr and Carlene J. Hess; and her nephew David A. Cramer. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Larry E. Baugher; and her siblings, Gordon Cramer, Arlene Garrett, Arnold Cramer, and Roger Cramer. A visitation will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday January 12, 2022 until the funeral service begins at 11:00 AM at Christ United Church of Christ, 32 Baltimore St., Codorus (Jefferson), with her pastor, the Rev. Rick Pulling, Rev. Charles Hull, and Rev. Bonnie Whittier officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Cemetery. **Due to the rise of COVID-19, for everyone's safety, we are requesting that all visitors wear masks, regardless of vaccination status** In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Church of Christ, P.O.
