Russell E. “Foozy” Foye York Russell E. “Foozy” Foye, 92, of York, died Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at SpiriTrust Lutheran, Shrewsbury. He was the husband of Norma J. (Reed) Foye with whom he celebrated 70 years of marriage on April 13, 2016. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday July 16, 2016 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 2173 Stoverstown Road, Spring Grove, with Rev. Katherine Seiler, officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday at the church. Military rites will be held by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main St., Glen Rock is assisting with the arrangements. Born November 10, 1923, in Augustaville, PA, he was a son of the late Peter B. and Marguerite M. (Long) Foye. Mr. Foye was a United States Army Veteran, having served in the 6th Armored Division, 231st infantry. He received the Bronze Star Award in WWII and fought five major battles. Russ was an inspector for Voith Hydro, York, for over 22 years. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Stoverstown, and a life member of Spring Grove VFW Post 5265. He enjoyed wood working and hunting. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Sharon L. Michael and her husband Donald of York, and Tammy S. Huff and her husband Weston of Merrimac, MA; two sons, Charles P. Foye and his wife Linda of York, and Rick E. Foye and his wife Georgia of Hanover; seven grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
