Ronald W. Dise

Ronald W. Dise, 83, of Glen Rock, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2024. Ron was born September 7, 1940 in Glen Rock, PA. to the late Walter J. and Myrtle R. (Koller) Dise. He is survived by his wife Barbara S. (Gantz) Dise, son Scott R. Dise and his wife Jill, grandchildren Sarah Dise Throckmorton and her husband Thomas Throckmorton, Jr. and Adam Dise, great-grandchildren Thomas III and Bennett Throckmorton. He was preceded in death by his son Rodney W. Dise.

Ron graduated Susquehannock High School in 1958 and worked at AMP, Inc. for 39 years at various plants and after retirement worked as a janitor for the Southern York County School District for a couple years. He also had a local lawn mowing business for several years. Ron was a 50+ year member of St. Jacob's (Stone) UCC, Glenville and served on many committees including: Glen Rock Christmas Decoration Committee since 1982, Glen Rock Christmas Ornament, Glen Rock Street Fair Committee, Vice Chairman of the Glen Rock Sesquicentennial, President and Editor of the newsletter for the Codorus Valley Historical Society, Glen Rock Historical Society, York Heritage Trust, Northern Baltimore County Historical Society and received the Austin L. Grove American legion Post 403 Good Citizenship of the Year Award in 2004. His hobbies included Train Collectors Society, genealogy research, researching local history and he loved to travel, visiting every state in the continental US twice as well as travelling through Europe by train.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024, 11 am at St. Jacob's Stone Church Cemetery, 5152 Stone Church Road, Glenville, PA. 17329. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jacob's Church.
