Ronald Michael Vain

On Friday, July 1, 2022, Ronald M. Vain, Sr., 77, of Glen Rock, passed away peacefully with family by his side. He was the loving husband of Barbara J. (Gottheld) Vain. He was born on October 22, 1944 in Baltimore, MD to the late Elmer E. and Dorothy E. (Sandman) Vain. Ron graduated from Howard High School in Ellicott City, MD. He then became a manager for Pilot Freight Carriers before driving truck for AMP / Tyco, Inc. for many years, until he retired. Ron loved teaching his sons, grandsons, and other people how to fix things, from items around the house to vehicles. He enjoyed tinkering around his 'shop' on a daily basis. He was known for being meticulous about his grass and having perfectly straight lines. Ron truly enjoyed helping people and would drop everything when someone needed assistance. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. Ron is survived by his wife, Barb; children, Deb and husband Dennis Dehoff, Ron and wife Trina Vain, and Dan and wife Thandi Vain; grandchildren, Don and wife Becca, Terra and husband Bobby, Tyler and fiancé Emily, Derrick, Christopher, Austin, Bryton, Thabo, Vuyo and Nandi. Public viewing will be held on Thursday, July 7 from 9 AM until a funeral service begins at 11 AM at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Sykesville, MD.
