Ronald G. Hake, 84, of York, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at his home. He was proceeded in death by his wife Helen Mae (Colyer) Hake.
Ron was born on July 10th, 1937 in Glen Rock, PA, a son of Agnes Marie (Boyd) Hake and Earl R. Hake Sr and Helen Romaine (Warner) Hake, his step-mother.
He worked as a driver for Coca Cola bottling works in York until the plant closed. He attended Hiram G. Andrews school in Johnstown and learned the trade of Television repairman. He retired from T.V. City in York.
He was a member of The Glen Rock Carolers for a number of years. After retirement he volunteered at Lincoln Charter school in York. His door was always open to help family, friends and neighbors. He would give you a hug and would always say "I love you" before you left his home.
Ron is survived by his daughters, Alicia (Brock) Collins of York, Deb (Steve) Bechtal of York, Aneta (Doug) Bell of Dover, Debbie (Fred) Kline of Westminster MD, Elizabeth (George) Zane of Leola, Liz Colyer (Michael) of York; son Ronald Hake of Woodburn OR. He was proceeded in death by his daughters Dawn Lee Ann Brenneman, Janice Lee Heath and Wendy Scusselle all of York.
He leaves to cherish his memory his grandchildren, Shane Kauffman, Karisha Kauffman, Kyle Bechtel, Daniel, Macen, and Sophia Troup, Sara Fritsch, Haley Fritsch, Devlin Logan and Jackson Collins (or as he affectionately called him, "Lil Bro").His passion was reading history, watching military historical movies and any Western movie featuring his favorite actor, John Wayne.
He is survived by his sisters Bonnie Ann Erb of Dover, Patricia (Doug) Whitacre of Dover and Kathy McCandless of York; his brother Dwight and his wife Mary of Red Lion. He was proceeded in death by his sisters Betty Huff, Betty Ryan and Sharon Grunden; brothers William Hake, Earl (Moonie) Hake, Larry Hake, Robert Hake and Thomas Kurtz.
Per dad's request there will be no services. We are grateful for the care provided to our dad through Hospice and Community Care, especially his aid, Stacey. She always was so happy to see him and had a smile on her face.
