Romaine E. Mcglaughlin

Romaine E. (Hengst) McGlaughlin, 93, died Tuesday November 28, 2017 at Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late William L. McGlaughlin III. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday December 2, 2017 at St. Paul’s Wolfs ECC Church, 4501 Wolf’s Church Road, York with Rev. A. Eric Palmquist, officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Romaine was born in North Codorus Township on February 22, 1924, and was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Mary M. (Joseph) Hengst. Formerly of the Woodberry area of York, she was employed as a seamstress for many years at Doe Spun in York and was a member of St. Paul’s Wolfs ECC Church. She leaves three daughters, Dorothy J. Wallick of York, Bonita L. Brose (Harry) of Dover and Marie L. Hengst of Wrightsville; Four sons, Robert L. Lehman (Jeanann) of Spring Grove, Larry E. Lehman (Brenda) and Danny R. McGlaughlin (Randa) all of York and William L. McGlaughlin IV (Dar) of Red Lion; many Grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Grace E. Smith (Don) of York and a brother, Wilburt “Burt” Hengst (Janet) of York. She was predeceased by two sons, Marlin Lehman and Charles “Jake” Lehman and her brothers and sisters, Dorothy J. Dinges, Ruth M. Lazusky, Catherine Hengst, Raymond E. Hengst, Sr., Charles A. Hengst, Jr., Lester P. Hengst, Mervin Hengst, William Hengst, Earl J. Hengst, and Merle Hengst. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harvest of Hope Food Pantry, 4485 Wolfs Church Road, York, PA 17408.
