Robert T. Kimes

Robert T. Kimes, 88, of Spring Grove, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Hanover Hall Nursing Center. He was the beloved husband of Rosella B. (Lawson) Kimes with whom he celebrated a 68th wedding anniversary on May 7th. Following cremation, a graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday May 24, 2017 at Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery, South Highland Drive, Shrewsbury. Mr. Kimes was born on February 10, 1929, in Shrewsbury, a son of the late Frank “Bob” C. and Mary F. (Wagner) Kimes. Robert was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a life member of AMVETS, Hanover, the Hanover Home Association, and the Hanover Republican Club, where he was a past president. Robert was an accomplished woodworker, he enjoyed recreational shooting, fishing, and played the guitar in several local country western bands. Besides his wife, he leaves a sister Elnora J. Stiffler of York, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Belva F. Amspacher and Goldie E. Miller. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the York County SPCA 3159 Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406.
