Robert (Bob) Thomas Stiffler, formerly of Shrewsbury, PA, died peacefully at his sister's home in Hanover, PA on Monday evening, January 9, 2023 after a hard-fought battle with throat cancer. Born at York Hospital in 1957, he was the son of Elnora J. (Kimes) Stiffler of York and the late John H. Stiffler. He leaves his sister Mary L. Snyder and his brother-in-law Dave Snyder of Hanover, his sister Beverly A. Stiffler Smith of York. He also leaves his youngest sister, Kathy L. Stiffler of Las Vegas. Bob leaves a son, Bobby Stiffler of Shrewsbury, niece Kristy Ward and family and nephew, Mike Smith. Bob will especially be missed by his precious fur-niece, Jellybean. Bob grew up on South Main Street in Shrewsbury, PA and graduated from Susquehannock High School in 1975. Those who knew Bob would say that he worked hard and he played hard. A mason for forty-two years, Bob was involved in building projects, large and small, throughout the county and state. His occupation took a toll on his body over the years. He had gone through successful hip and shoulder surgeries within the last two years, when cancer struck. Bob fought a brave, quiet battle with the help of the wonderful support team at Pennsylvania Cancer Specialists. A special thank you to Dr. Martin and Dr. Patel. Bob was an avid NASCAR fan. Over the years, Bob traveled to various venues to attend many NASCAR races. He was a hard-core Dale Earnhart fan, both Senior and Junior. In the latter years he rooted for Chase Elliot. He never missed a televised race and was known for rewatching older races. The joke was always "Did the same guy win?" Per Bob's wishes there will be no service following cremation.
