Robert John Benney

On Thursday, August 4, 2022, Robert "Bob" John Benney, 67, of Felton, passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Sandy (Simpson) Benney. Bob was born on August 25, 1954 in Glen Burnie, MD to the late Gerald and Sophie (Gallik) Benney. Bob received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Baltimore, and spent the past 25 years woodworking. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his Harley, and attending bluegrass festivals. Most of all, he cherished spending time in Honesdale at the family farm with his family and friends. Bob was an avid woodworker. His most recent projects included making cornhole boards, cutting boards, tables, and benches. He is survived by his wife, Sandy; two daughters, Brooke Riley and husband Matt, and Joanna Rhoades and husband Matt; two sons, Garrett Benney and wife Mary, and John Benney and wife Tina; step-daughter Brittany Burtnick and husband Tyler; five brothers, Jeffrey Benney and wife Nanci, James Benney and wife Judy, Thomas Benney and wife Lisa, Joseph Benney and wife Mary, and Charles Benney and wife Suzi; and nine grandchildren, Aubree, Brody, Hunter, Samuel, James, Paul, Brady, Remi, and Analisa. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his mother-in -law Doris Edie. In addition to his mother Sophie and father Gerald, Bob was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Kim Markle, and numerous aunts and uncles. Please join us to celebrate Bob's life on Friday, August 12th at 12PM at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock.
