Robert H. Rife Glen Rock Robert H. Rife, 82, of Glen Rock, died, Monday July 7, 2014 at his home. He was the husband of the late Betty L. (Hoover) Rife. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 12, 2014 at the Spring Grove Cemetery, West Constitution Ave., Spring Grove, with the Pastor Rev. Paula A. Murray officiating and military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday July 11, 2014 at the Geiple Funeral, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock. Mr. Rife was born October 25, 1931 in Waynesboro, PA, a son of the late Clair and Ann (Moul) Rife Deardorf. Robert was a U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean War. He retired from Caterpillar after 22 years, prior to that he was a foreman for Cole Steel, York, for many years. Mr. Rife was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles - Aerie #1406, Hanover and the United Birthday Club, New Freedom. Robert enjoyed fishing, crabbing, hunting, working on cars, and loved cooking. He leaves a daughter, Melinda Sue Hughes of Glen Rock; a Grandson Adam E. Hughes also of Glen Rock; two Step-sisters, Anna May Kline and Ruth Deardorf; a Step-brother John Deardorf; and his beloved Grand dogs Sebastian and Sadie. He is preceded in death by a brother, Richard “Dickey” Rife.
