Rea R. Van Scoyoc Glen Rock Rea R. (McCartney) Van Scoyoc, 85, of Glen Rock, died Friday, September 7, 2018, at her home. She was the wife of Charles W. Van Scoyoc with whom she celebrated a 63rd wedding anniversary on April 23, 2018. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock with her pastor Rev. Dr. Bruce P. Bouchard, officiating. Burial will be in St. Jacob’s (Stone) Church Cemetery. Viewings will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday evening and from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Van Scoyoc was born in August of 1933, in Philipsburg, PA, a daughter of the late John R. Troxell and Stella (McCartney) Troxell. Rea was a homemaker and a part time licensed hair dresser for many years. She also was a member of St. Jacob’s (Stone) United Church of Christ, Glenville and was a treasurer for the Lutheran Women for over 35 years. She enjoyed country music, cooking, and spending time with her family. In her younger years she had enjoyed fishing and was an avid antiquer. In addition to her husband Charles, she is survived by a daughter, Jeanne Daehnke and her husband Bill of York; a son Charles S. Van Scoyoc and his wife Jami of Glen Rock; a grandson Hunter M. Van Scoyoc of Glen Rock; a brother Roger Troxell of Glasgow, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Jerry Troxell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. Jacob’s Stone United Church of Christ, 5152 Stone Church Road, Glenville, PA 17329. Condolences may be shared at geiple.com
