Rachel Saunders

On Saturday, May 13, 2023, Rachel W. Saunders, 67, of Dallastown, passed away at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. She was the wife of Larry Newcomer for 21 years. She was born on May 10, 1956 in Charlottesville, VA to the late Leander T. and Carolyn E. (Booth) Saunders. Rachel graduated high school in Warrenton, VA, then received her undergraduate from Westhampton/Richmond, and her Master's Degree from the University of Tennessee. She was a family therapist for over 40 years, up until her passing. She enjoyed being around people, getting to know them, and making friends everywhere. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, doing word puzzles, watching mystery movies on TV, and taking care of her cats.

She is survived by her husband, Larry; two children, Julie Qualtieri and Kevin Newcomer; three siblings, Rebecca, Burrell, and Martha; and two grandchildren, Alexis and Corinne. She was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and clients that she had close, family-type relationships with.

Public viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 24, from 10:00am until a funeral service begins at 12:00pm at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, PA. Interment will follow in St. Jacob's Stone Church Cemetery, Glenville, PA. A celebration of life service will be held on June 10th, at 10:30am at the Warrenton Baptist Church, 123 Main St., Warrenton, VA.
