Preston Scott Owens

Preston Owens, 65, of Dover, PA passed away July 21, 2021 at home. Preston was born May 31, 1956 in Clearfield, PA. The son of John Edward Owens and Marilyn Mae (Johnson) Owens, Preston was a graduate of York Suburban High School and proudly served in the US Navy and Naval Reserves from 1978 to 1984. Serving on the USS Kitty Hawk CV63, Preston earned numerous awards including the Navy Battle Award, Good Conduct Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Humanitarian Service Medal and Navy Expeditionary Medal. Preston was currently employed by the Defense Logistics Agency at the New Cumberland Army Depot. A loving husband and devoted father, Preston held his family in highest regard and enjoyed sharing his passion for the outdoors, including hunting and fishing. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years: Christina (Albright) Owens and daughters; Katelyn Anthony (Evan) and Emily Channell (Nicholas). He is also survived by his mother, Marilyn Owens and two sisters, Charlene Pontoriero (Guy) and Lorraine Cochran (Thomas) and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, July 24 from 9:00 am until a funeral service begins at 11:00 am at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock. Interment with military rites will be held on Wednesday, July 28, at 10:00 am at Rest Haven Cemetery, 310 Westminster Road, Hanover. Pastor James Spurrier will officiate.
