Phyllis J. (Henry) Thoman, 89, formerly of Spring Grove, passed away Tuesday February 8, 2022, at SpiriTrust Lutheran at the Utz Terrace, Hanover two days shy of celebrating her 90th birthday. Phyllis was the wife of the late Charles A. "Andy" Thoman. Phyllis was born on February 10, 1932, in Brodbecks, Codorus Township. She was a daughter of the late Paul E. and Mary C. (Shue) Henry. She graduated from Codorus Township High School and went onto receive a degree from Thompson Business School. Phyllis worked at McCory's Distribution Center as a secretary, and for Bon-Ton, Hanover. She worked at Kiser's Gift Shop in Spring Grove, and finished her career in the sales and order department for Hanover Direct. She was a member of St. Jacob's Stone United Church of Christ, where she was a member of their Sunday school, and a former organist and choir member. Phyllis was also a member of the Spring Grove Historical Society, the Jefferson Chapter #3699 AARP, and was a faithful Stoverstown Tigers baseball fan. Phyllis is survived by her two daughters Diane V. Bahn and her husband Steven of York, Karen S. Magalski and her husband Edward of Spring Grove; and a son Timothy A. Thoman of Hanover; six grandchildren, Amanda D. Myers and husband Shawn, Matthew A. Bahn and wife Megan, Michael E. Magalski and wife Sarah, Lauren D. Magalski, Jason C. Thoman and wife Christina, Jacqueline L. Mummert and husband Cameron; and three great grandchildren, Wyatt L. Myers, Evan A. Myers, and Brynn G. Myers. She was proceeded in death by her sister Geraldine E. Rinehart and her brother Marlyn D. Henry. A viewing will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jacob's (Stone) UCC, 5152 Stone Church Road, Glenville. Rev. Bruce P. Bouchard will officiate the service and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at SpiriTrust Utz Terrace, for the excellent care shown to their mother. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jacob's (Stone) UCC at the address printed above.
