Philip Hoeflich

Philip (Phil) Hoeflich passed away in York, PA on December 17, 2023. He was 77 years old. He was born in Baltimore, Md and was the seventh child of Mary Elizabeth and Francis R. Hoeflich (both deceased). Devoted husband of 55 years to Helen M. Hoeflich (nee Harakal), father to Philip J. (Bethany) Hoeflich of Enola, PA and Theresa A. (Kevin) Eifert of Sweetwater, NJ, grandfather to Justin, Natalie, Brendan, Joanna and Nicholas and brother to Thomas Hoeflich (deceased), Helen Schilling (deceased), Sister Patricia Ann Hoeflich, Michael Hoeflich (deceased), Linda Dewey (deceased), Theodore Hoeflich and Francis Hoeflich (deceased). Phil was a US Navy Veteran serving as a radioman aboard the USS Zellers Destroyer during the Vietnam War. He was in the electronics field all of his life and was an amateur ham radio operator for over 65 years and a past member of the Felton Radio Club. He retired from Capital Blue Cross in 2009 as a telecommunications network engineer. He loved the Baltimore Ravens and he was very proud of all of his grandchildren's accomplishments. He was a Eucharistic minister and member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Freedom, PA.

Public visitation will be held on Thursday, December 21 from 11:00 am until a funeral liturgy takes place at 12:00 pm at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom, PA 17349. Interment with military rites will follow in the church cemetery. Fr. Mark Wilke will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are recommended to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church at the address above.
