Paul V. Van Noord

On Friday June 21, 2024, Paul V. Van Noord, 81, of York, passed away at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York. He was the husband of Deborah (Keener) Van Noord for 15 years. Paul was born on August 8, 1942 in Grand Rapids, MI, to the late Gelmer A. and Marian (Burmania) Van Noord.

Paul served his country in the U.S. Navy then utilized his talents in several careers throughout his life including running his own businesses. He was a traveling business consultant, realtor, home builder, school bus driver, and ended his career customizing computer systems and building databases for small businesses. He was an active member and committed to serving at church. He was very passionate about mission work and spent countless hours volunteering his time to support missionaries all over the world, traveling to Guatemala, Cambodia, Egypt, and frequent visits to the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Paul’s Dutch heritage gave him a love for the water, including owning several boats, going fishing, crabbing, and water sports. He had a love for nature, photography, and raising various animals on his farm. He was known for a deep faith in the Lord, love for travel, meeting new people, and trying new foods.

Paul is survived by his wife, Debbie; siblings, Glenn Van Noord and Elaine Schipper; and numerous children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Marilyn Magnuson.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, June 29th from 9:00 am until a memorial service begins at 10:00 am at Liberty Christian Fellowship, 7 Maple St., Seven Valleys, PA 17360. Pastor Bill Read will officiate.
