Norma A. Day

On Friday, July 22, Norma A. (Gerbrick) Day, 91, passed away suddenly at home in Greencastle, PA. She was the loving wife of Donald L. Day. Norma was born on March 19, 1931, in Shrewsbury Township to the late Stewart L. and Beulah R. (Warner) Gerbrick. She graduated from Church Home and Hospital School of Nursing and was a Registered Nurse for York Hospital for over 25 years until she retired in 1995. Norma was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Glen Rock; York Hospital Auxillary; Glen Rock Hose and Ladder Company Auxillary; and the Austin L. Grove American Legion Post #403 Auxillary. Norma was an avid sewer of charity quilts for those in need, and was a founding member of the Samaritan sewing group.

Norma is survived by her husband, Donald; two children, Wendy E. Shank and husband David, and Steven K. Day; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Myra Clark and Ruth King.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 28 at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Glen Rock. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are recommended to Trinity United Church of Christ, 27 Manchester St., Glen Rock, PA 17327. Online condolences are available at www.geiple.com.
