Nancy Lee Bacon

Nancy L. Bacon, 80, formerly of Bluffton, SC passed away February 4, 2024 at Zimmerman Place, SpiriTrust Lutheran, Shrewsbury Township, PA.

Nancy was born April 1, 1943 in Shrewsbury Township, York County, PA to the late John N. Henry and Anita M. (Burk) Henry. A member of the National Honor Society, Nancy graduated from Hereford High School in 1961 as the top commercial student in the class. Days after graduation, she accepted a position with Black & Decker, where she typed envelopes for three days. She was then promoted as Secretary of the U.S. Operations President.

Nancy soon met the love of her life, James "Jim" C. Bacon. They were married November 11, 1981. Together, they renovated a 100 year old Victorian home in Delaware, Ohio. After moving to the area in 1996, Nancy became known as the "book lady" in Sun City Hilton Head. As an avid sewer, she made cloth books for children. After over forty years together, Jim passed away November 21, 2022.

Nancy is survived by her sister, Mary Louise Warns (Bill), her brother, John Henry, Jr. (Mary), nephews Michael Warns (Rick Freda), Billy Warns and nieces, Barbara Henry and Bette Henry.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St, Glen Rock, PA. Chaplain Melissa Mosebrook will officiate. Burial will take place alongside Jim at Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC later in February.
