Nancy J. George

Nancy J. George York Nancy J. (Snyder) George, 73, of York, passed away Saturday January 13, 2018 at the York Hospital. She was the wife of David L. George, with whom she celebrated a 45th wedding anniversary this past November 11th. Mrs. George was born on January 23, 1944 in Loganville and was the daughter of the late Luther A. and Viola M. (Krout) Snyder. She was a 1961 graduate of Dallastown High School and a 1971 graduate of Lancaster School of the Bible (now Lancaster Bible College). Following her studies, she served a year at Christian Aid Mission in Washington, DC. Nancy was a very active member of Church of the Open Door, Shiloh, where she taught ladies Bible study. She valued her friendships and would continue them for many years by being sure to stay in contact. She loved to send greeting cards, cooking, gardening, and enjoyed flowers. Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters, Susanne Goosen and her husband Luaan of East London, South Africa, Ruth Ann Allen and husband Timothy of Clementon, NJ, and Joanna M. George of Red Lion; Six grandchildren, Pieter, Sarah, and Katelyn Goosen, Elisabeth, Sophia, and David “George” Allen; and a brother Ray Snyder of Spring Grove. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Church of the Open Door, 8 Carlisle Court, York with Rev. Don Wagner and Rev. Robert H. Riedy, officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 AM Monday at the church. Burial will follow in St. Jacob’s Union Cemetery, York New Salem.
