Mildred Smith

November 14, 1925 — July 13, 2024

Mildred Smith, 98, formerly of Glen Rock, passed away at Inners Creek Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dallastown on Saturday, July 13, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Annie I. (Kaltreider) Smith and Willis V. Smith, born November 14, 1925.

Mildred was a lifelong member of St. Jacob's (Stone) UCC in Glenville, where she provided decades of service as a Sunday School teacher in the children's department. She enjoyed sewing and worked at various local sewing factories. In later years, Mildred's favorite past time was creating beautiful quilts to share among her family and friends. She was also well known for her delicious layered fudge in chocolate and peanut butter.

A devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, she was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Preston K., Nevin K., Wilford K. and Raymond K. Smith, and Eva K. Smith Cornbower Boyer. Also preceding Mildred in death was her longtime companion, Raymond Wildasin. In addition to the Wildasin children, Mildred is survived by many nieces, nephews and a sister-in-law, Violet Smith of Hanover.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at St. Jacob's (Stone) UCC, 5152 Stone Church Road, Glenville, PA 17329 from 10:30 AM to 11 AM at which time a funeral service will begin. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be to St. Jacob's (Stone) UCC, please designate for the Good Samaritan Fund, at the above address.
