Michael R. Schofield

Michael R. Schofield, Sr., formerly of New Freedom, died Thursday July 12, 2018, at Manor Care, Dallastown. He was the husband of the late Joyce E. (Tracey) Schofield. Following cremation by the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, all services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing. Michael was born on March 31, 1949, in Parkton, MD and was a son of the late Elmer B. “Buzz” and Florence M. (Taylor) Schofield. He worked as a machine operator at Insulator, New Freedom, as a pitcher for Heyne’s Refuse Services, Shrewsbury, a truck driver for Penn Waste, and a greeter at Walmart, Shrewsbury. Michael loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, playing card games, shooting pool, and he especially enjoyed playing Yahtzee. He leaves a daughter, Tricia L. Waltermeyer and her husband Bruce of York, two sons, Larry A. Schofield of Dover and Michael R. Schofield Jr. and his wife Wendy of York; three grandchildren; a brother James C. Schofield of York; and a sister Margaret E. White of Railroad.
