Merle L. Renoll

On Friday, August 23, 2024, Merle L. Renoll, 82, of Glen Rock, passed away at WellSpan York Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Sonia (Harbolt) Renoll. They would have celebrated their 58th Anniversary in November of this year.

Merle was born on July 21, 1942 in Hanover to the late Elmer and Goldie (Bankert) Renoll. He graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1961, then received an Associate's Degree from Penn State. He also proudly served his country in the US Army from 1964 to 1966. He had worked for the Glen Rock Steam Bakery; Seven Valleys Garment Company; and ended his work career at AMP / TYCO, Inc.

Merle was a member of American Legion Post #403 in Glen Rock, where he was past Commander and past District Adjutant. In his spare time he enjoyed Golfing, Bowling, playing pool; going to Atlantic City; eagle watching; but mostly, spending time with his grandsons.

He is survived by his wife, Sonia; one son, Mark A. Renoll; four brothers, David Renoll and wife Penny, Dennis Renoll and wife Jean, Jeffrey Renoll and Marlin Renoll; and two grandsons, Ryan and Zachary Renoll.

There will be a private visitation and memorial service, to be held at the family's discretion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250.
