Mason E. Butcher

Mason E. Butcher III Seven Valleys Mason E. Butcher III, 65, of Seven Valleys, died Wednesday August 24, 2016 at the Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Marsha L. (Young) Butcher with whom he shared 30 Years of marriage. He was born in York on October 23, 1950 and was the son of the late Mason E. Butcher, Jr, and Loretta A. (Brown) Butcher. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main St., Glen Rock, with the Rev. Katie R. Brantner officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Glen Rock with military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewings will be held Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Mr. Butcher was a U.S. Marine Veteran, having served during Vietnam. He was a mechanic for John’s RV, Jacobus and prior to that was an engineer for Pfaltzgraff for 20 years. Mason was a member of the Austin L. Grove Legion Post 403, Glen Rock, West York VFW 8951, Hanover Moose Lodge 227, and the South End Democratic Club, York. He enjoyed Riding his Harley, going to the mountains, watching sprint car races, and hunting. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters Melissa McCaulsky and her husband Timothy of New Oxford, and Shauna Sauble and her husband Stan “Chili Bear” of New Salem; Four Grandchildren; two sisters, Pamela M. Warner of Spring Grove and Mary A. Rehmeyer of Punxsutawney; and two brothers, Michael E. Butcher of New Bloomfield and Timothy D. Butcher of Stewartstown. He was predeceased by a brother Bert J. Butcher.
