Mary Ellen Bailey

Mary Ellen (Roser) Bailey, 91, died Sunday February 25, 2018 at her home. She was the wife of the late Stewart M. Bailey. Funeral services will be 11 am Friday at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock with Rev. Douglas DeStephano officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Glen Rock. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 AM Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Bailey was born on June 29, 1926 in Glen Rock and was a daughter of the late George and Alice G. (Markel) Roser. Formerly of Glen Rock, she had owned and operated Mary Ellen’s Beauty Shop in Glen Rock until 1977 following which she worked as a press operator at AMP, Inc. Plastics Division until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Glen Rock, former member of the Triangle Chapter #423 Order of the Eastern Star, Shrewsbury, York Hospital Auxiliary and New Freedom Chapter #4142 AARP. Mary Ellen leaves a daughter, Cindy L. Lehman (Larry) of York, two sons, Stewart M. "Butch" Bailey II (Darbe) of Hanover and Edward A. Bailey (Shelly) of Glen Rock; eight grandchildren. Michelle Reever, Diane Johnston, David Bailey, Monica Lehman, Kimberly McCachren, Michael Lehman, Ryan Bailey and Sara Bailey and three great-grandchildren, Victoria, Sophia and Brayden. She was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara A. Johnson.
