Mary E. Pleger

Mary E. Pleger Felton Mary E. (Bankert) Pleger, 70, of Felton, who was formerly of Red Lion, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Jack R. Pleger. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock, with Rev. Leon H. Denlinger officiating. Burial will be in Dallastown Union Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Mary was born on September 4, 1943 in York, a daughter of the late Simon P. and Margaret E. (McCoy) Bankert. She graduated in 1961 from Dallastown High School and had worked as a Nurses Aid at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in 1970’s. Mary also assisted Jeanne and John Harry as a caregiver for mentally and physically challenged persons that they cared for in their home for many years. She was also participating in the Senior Life of York Program. Mary is survived by a daughter, Trema F. Gordon-Spangler of Felton, a grandson, Niclous Cone of Felton, a sister Martha J. Rahe of York and a brother Leslie P. McCoy of Ohio. She now joins her late sister Deborah R. Bray. She also leaves the many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, that she devoted most of her life to helping to raise, including 17 members of Harry Family, two members of the Sleeger Family and one member of the Caswell Family.
