On Wednesday, August 31, 2022, Marvin B. Myers, 90, of York passed away at home. He was the devoted husband of Janice E. (Arnold) Myers. They celebrated 54 years of marriage in February. Marvin was born on June 30, 1932 in Springfield Township to the late Samuel B. and Mary A. (Godfrey) Myers.
He proudly served his country in the US Marines during the Korean War era. He took part in the Korean War Veterans Revisit Program, where he and other Korean War Veterans revisited the country and were given a medal from the Korean Government for their honorable services.
He was a lifelong carpenter throughout his career, with his brother Charles, Walter Henry Sr. and Jeffrey Henry builders. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, going to the mountains, and just being outdoors. He enjoyed watching golf, football and baseball and also being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a humble man, who enjoyed living life.
He is survived by his wife, Janice; three sons, Timothy A. Emig and wife Sharon, Kevin W. Myers, and Chadd B. Myers and fiancee Heather; five grandchildren, Brooke Dagle and husband Anthony, Andrew Emig and wife Carla, Krystal DiEugenio and husband Jimmy, Caleb Myers and LeiLani Myers; three step-grandchildren, Lexi Campbell, Bella and Christian Sailor; he is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and three siblings, Ruth Eckenrode, Charles Myers and Howard Myers. He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, James, Delmas and Vernon Myers, Arlene Luckenbaugh, and Esther Ness.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, September 8 from 5:30pm until a Memorial Service begins at 7:00pm at St. Peter's Church, 1708 Seitzville Road Seven Valleys, PA 17360. Pastor Thomas Beck will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations are recommended to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
