Marilyn L. Sides

Marilyn L. (Sweitzer) Sides, 82, formerly of Glen Rock, died Sunday, April 7, 2024, at her home. She was the wife of Rodney G. Sides, the mother of the late Scott A. Sides, and the sister of the late Barto R. Sweitzer. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 27 Manchester Street, Glen Rock, with a visitation for family and friends being held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. The Geiple-Predicce Funeral Home, 53 Main St., Glen Rock is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Sides was born on February 5, 1942, in Glen Rock, daughter of the late Barto G. and Lenore I. (Baublitz) Sweitzer. Marilyn was a 1960 graduate of Susquehannock High School and was a lifelong member of Trinity United Church of Christ, where she had been a member of the choir for many decades, assisted for some years with Sunday School, and served on Consistory. She also was active in the Young Women's Community Club and served as Glen Rock Borough Secretary. Over the years, she worked at the Summers Canning Co., Susquehannock High School, and American Machine and Foundry. She leaves her husband Rodney, of York; a son, Rick A. Sides, and his wife Jessica, of Lutherville, MD; a daughter-in law, Christine Sides, of York; a sister-in-law, Irene Sweitzer; and four grandchildren, Andrew, Emily, and Amanda Sides of York and Lydia Sides of Lutherville, MD. The family has requested no flowers and that memorial contributions be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, 27 Manchester Street, Glen Rock PA, 17327.
