Marie S. Peek

Marie S. “Ria” (Rellinghaus) Peek, 92, of Shrewsbury, passed away on March 21, 2019 at ManorCare Dallastown. She was the wife of the late Ernest Legrand Peek, Sr. She was born in Baltimore on July 19, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Frank A. and Karoline A. (Lilie) Rellinghaus. She worked in accounting for Loyola Federal Bank, Baltimore, MD for 18 years, St. Joseph Medical Center, Towson in Medical Billing, and for Bob Ward Realtor Companies. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Freedom. Marie was full of wit and was very smart phone savvy for her age and kept up with her family and friends on Facebook. She enjoyed reading with first graders and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Marie had a way about her that she would make friends anywhere she went. She truly enjoyed time spent with her beloved family and she will be missed by so many. Marie is survived by two daughters, Karoline M. Cherry of Shrewsbury, and Linda S. Chaney of Baltimore, MD; a son, Ernest L. Peek, Jr. of Camp Hill; seven grandchildren, Michael Cherry, Kimberly Williams, Dana Champney, Amanda Pappas, Barbara Fairson, Patrick Chaney, and John Peek; and ten great grandchildren. Following cremation, a visitation will be held from 10 to 11 AM, Saturday, March 30, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N Constitution Ave, New Freedom, PA 17349, where a Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
