Margaret E. Stabler Glen Rock Margaret E. Stabler, 94, of Glen Rock, died Friday June 5, 2015 at her home. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday June 11, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church, 47 Hanover Street, Glen Rock with her pastor the Rev. Ed Robbins, officiating. A viewing will be held Thursday at the church from noon to 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery, Shrewsbury with Military Rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Miss Stabler was born on November 8, 1920 in Shrewsbury Township, a daughter of the late Clovies J. and Lillie M. (Brodbeck) Stabler. She graduated in 1939 from Glen Rock High School and she was a United States Army Sergeant Veteran of World War II, serving in the Women’s Army Corp. She retired in 1982 from Carroll County Hospital, Westminster, MD, where she had been employed as an X-Ray Technician for 21 years. She was the first X-Ray Technologist at Carroll County Hospital and opened the X-Ray Department there in 1961 with the founder, the late Dr. Thomas Campbell. Prior to that she was an X-Ray Tech. at Frederick Memorial Hospital and York Hospital. She also helped start the X-Ray Department at the York Hospital under the supervision of Dr. Taylor. Margaret was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Glen Rock, the Austin L. Grove American Legion Post # 403, Glen Rock, the Women’s Auxiliary Army Corp. (WAAC), and Women’s Army Corp (WAC). She helped her brother Bud cook for the Glen Rock Senior Center for many years. She is survived by a sister, A. Emma Heinecke, of Glen Rock, nieces, Frederica A. Mundis of Glen Rock and Brenda E. Miller and her husband David of York; a great niece, Michelle Mundis; great nephews, Ryan Mundis, Christiaan Miller, Jonathan Miller, and Benjamin Miller; two great great nieces, and two great great nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Jared C. “Bud” Stabler, her sister Kathryn I. Stabler, and a nephew-in-law Michael W. Mundis.
