Madalene M. Sheeley

April 9, 1935 — January 19, 2022

Madalene Mae Sheeley, born April 9, 1935, in Red Lion, PA passed away peacefully on January 19, 2022 at Normandie Ridge. She was preceded in death by spouses: William L. Sheeley Sr.; Wilson L. Ferree Jr. and her parents Charles E. Gross and Ethel M. (Hutton) Gross.
Madalene graduated from Dallastown High School in 1953 and studied piano at Sherwood Music. She worked for many years at Southern Pennsylvania, now M&T Bank, as the manager of bookkeeping. In addition, she was the pianist and organist for St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Red Lion for over 50 years.
As a talented musician she shared her love of music through teaching piano, and was a long-time member of her church choir along with the handbell choir. She enjoyed square dancing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She served many years on the 1953 high school reunion committee and enjoyed participating in monthly lunch bunch gatherings with her cousins.
She is survived by her children Stephanie (Ferree) Frey (Joel), Pamela (Ferree) Anderson (Duane), David Ferree (Jackie), step-son William Sheeley (Dianne), step-daughter-in-law Clarissa Sheeley. Grandchildren Randi (Frey) John (Matt), Ashley (Sheeley) Cook (Kevin), Nathaniel Anderson (Gahan), Chelsea (Anderson) Peele (Chris), Ashley Chucales and Hannah Ferree. Great-grandchildren Eric & Ethan John, Kelsey & Kayden Cook, Elliott Anderson and Etta Peele. A great-granchild is expected May 1, 2022
She is also survived by sister Sandra (Gross) Treaster (Bill), and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Madalene was pre-deceased by her grandson Eric Frey, her step-son Carl Sheeley, her sister Dawn (Gross) Kepler and a brother-in-law John Kepler.
Thank you to everyone who cared for Madalene, including the staff at Victorian Villa and Normandie Ridge.
Services will be held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church First Ave. in Red Lion, PA on January 28, 2022. A viewing for friends and family will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. A private interment at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens will immediately follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to St. Paul's United Methodist Organ Fund 45 First Avenue, Red Lion, PA.
The family is requesting all attendees wear masks during all activities.
