Lydia Elizabeth Cress

On Friday, January 14, 2022, Lydia E. (Ringley) Cress, 83, passed away at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. She was the wife of the late William R. Cress. She was born on May 6, 1938, in Eidson, TN, to the late William and Dona Mae (Goins) Ringley.
Lydia worked as a CNA for Dallastown Nursing Center for many years before she retired. She was a strong, kind, giving, independent woman who raised 6 children alone after William's passing in 1980. In her spare time, she enjoyed cleaning her home and watching different pastoral programs on TV.
She is survived by four children, Charles Cress and his wife, Jane, Darryl Cress and his wife Michele, Terry Cress, and Sharon Wright; two sisters, Judy Williams and Lucille Taylor; 13 grandchildren, Brandy Henry, Cecilia Williams, Alicia Okafor, Abbey Bowmaster, Jamie Kliman, David Cress, Rachel Warner, Carli Bechtold, Jena Painter, William Reese Cress, William Allen Cress, Christopher Reese Cress, Thomas Jacob Cress; 18 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Lydia is preceded in death by her husband; parents; two children, Deborah and Gary Michael Cress; and one grandson, Dustin Wright.
Public viewing will be from 7pm to 9pm on Friday, January 21 at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock. A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 22 at 1:00pm at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Rd., York. Please arrive at the cemetery at 12:45pm.
