On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, Lucille (Yelton) Lecrone, 80, passed away peacefully at home in Seven Valleys. She was the wife of the late Michael H. Lecrone. Lucille was born on February 24, 1943 in Bakersville, NC, to the late Fred and Willie Mae (Briggs) Yelton.
Lucille was a hard worker, working for a Cotton Mill in Valdes, NC, Hungerford Packing Company in New Freedom, then retired from housekeeping at York Hospital after 27 years of service. She then worked part time for Brown's Orchards for 22 years after her retirement. In her spare time, she devoted herself to caring for her faithful dog, Lulu.
Lucille is survived by her children, Mary Lou Bittner, Deborah Ann Rapp and husband, Jeff, and Robert Williams; two brothers, JB Yelton and Ernest Yelton; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and two best friends, Laura Wicki and Norma Jean Koller. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son, Fred Williams; and one brother, Bob Yelton.
Public viewing will be held on Monday, March 27 from 10am until a funeral service begins at 12pm at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, PA. Interment will follow in New Freedom Cemetery. Online condolences may be made online at www.geiple.com.
